Insurance, what began as just a job became a lifelong opportunity for learning and career fulfilment.

I started at ING Insurance (now Intact), where I was first introduced to the basic concept of insurance, and what it means to underwrite risk. A couple of years into my career I was offered an opportunity to switch to the brokerage side, and it opened my eyes to a new world of possibility. My first visit to Lloyd’s of London – the birthplace of insurance - was certainly an eye opener! 

During my time I have filled numerous positions in the brokerage environment, which gives me perspective to understand the challenges our sales team and support staff face each and every day. Another aspect of my job that I find immensely satisfying is speaking with clients. You never know what you will learn from them by just listening! Sometimes they pat you on the back, and other times they rightfully let you know that you can do better!

For me, the goal each and every single day is to uphold the meaning and standard of being an insurance professional. I believe that if we can do this, then everything else will fall into place.
